About JSARRD

The Japan Service Agency for Remuneration Receipt and Distribution (JSARRD) is an organization established with the purpose of facilitating the efficient distribution of remuneration and royalties for the use of foreign literary works, artistic works, maps, diagrams, photographs, and other copyrighted materials collected within Japan to their respective overseas rights holders.

Currently, JSARRD provides support for the distribution of remuneration paid by educational sectors to The Society for the Administration of Remuneration for Public Transmission for School Lessons (SARTRAS) to overseas rights holders on behalf of organizations responsible for SARTRAS remuneration distribution in each respective copyrighted work category based on a contract with SARTRAS.

Organizational Structure

JSARRD is a general incorporated association with a board of directors, comprised of four member organizations: Japan Reprographic Rights Center(JRRC), Japan Academic Association for Copyright Clearance (JAC), The Copyright Council of Newspaper Publishers (CCNP), and the Federation of Authors’ Association of Japan.
